TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

As a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST, GS-0391-09, you will serve as the technical subject matter expert and full time advisor to the commander or OIC for the organization. The incumbent functions as the technical coordinator and/or technical specialist on issues relating to the tactical network system(LAN/WAN). You will plan, organize, manage, and perform duties necessary to enable command, control, communications and computers (C4) functions in support of programs essential to organizational information management and daily operations, training, and readiness missions. Perform other duties as assigned. Military Grades:

Experience:
All series personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level. Experiences gained through military technical training schools (restricted to one of the identified/allowed compatible military skills) are included in the one year on-the-job experience. An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. HRO will apply and evaluate the applicant's competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors) that include military and civilian experiences, completed education, learned skills, obtained knowledge, endorsed abilities, and training program accomplishments. Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately;? Skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings;? Skilled in the operational and performance characteristics of communications equipment, automated control and network management systems, transmission media, and the relationships among component parts of telecommunications systems;? Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material;? Knowledge of communications equipment, systems, services, and transmission media; Knowledge of electronic communications concepts, principles, practices, procedures, policies, standards, and operational requirements;? Ability to clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit effective communication;? Ability to write English in reports and presentation formats;? Experience:
an ARNG applicant must qualify for award of the position's compatible position's military aspects:
Service, Unit of Assignment, Rank, and Military Skill Set. To qualify, the applicant must meet the position's specialized experiences and competencies and/or training in tactical network systems (LAN/WAN), along with training and specialized experiences in performing work necessary to enable command, control, communications and computers (C4) functions in support of programs essential to organizational information management and daily operations, training, and readiness missions. Knowledgeable in how to implement, integrate, and maintain the organizational automation and brigade network infrastructure plans. Skilled in providing technical input to tactical infrastructure plans that support subordinate elements, to include headquarters staff elements and attached units. Skilled in the task of weighing impacts of variables such as, differences in electronic and other equipment characteristics, equipment availability, and the types of communications required such as, voice, text, and/or data. Knowledgeable of operating characteristics and interoperability requirements for a variety of specialized communications systems such as, office/tactical automation networks, satellite and video telecommunications, and digital networks. Must have working knowledge of laws, regulations, procedures, guidelines, techniques; and, lessons learned for network security, management, and administration. Skilled in preparing and presenting discussions, briefings, and presentations in regard to tactical networks or evaluating new and upgraded tactical software packages. Has the abilities and experiences to serve as an organizational Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO). Experienced in identifying the appropriate measures to maintain information assurance (network security and data protection) within the organization. Understands and has some experiences in configuring hubs and switches, monitoring network performance and installing network software change packages/interim change packages (SCPs/ICPs). Skilled in the development of the signal annexes of the organizational operation plan (OPLAN) or operation order (OPORD). Has the ability to provide information and expertise in the area of signal and tactical automation relating to the support of Homeland Security/Homeland Defense to include the development of LAN diagrams, WAN gateway connections and specifications. Specialized experiences included work with the Communications Security (COMSEC) inventory control facility and COMSEC procurement activities.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
